From the Tablet:
The ordinariate for former Anglicans yesterday celebrated its first anniversary with a service of Evensong and Benediction in a Catholic church in London. Around 500 people turned up to St James’, Spanish Place, for the service, which marked the first time the head of the ordinariate, Mgr Keith Newton, had publicly celebrated Evensong in a Catholic church. The service also included a procession of the Blessed Sacrament.
“It was a great coming together of Anglican patrimony,” said ordinariate spokesman and deacon James Bradley. Music for the occasion included Anglican favourites such as C.H. Parry’s anthem “I was glad” and music by Stanford. Hymns included “Alleluia, sing to Jesus” and “Praise to the holiest”, by Blessed John Henry Newman, whom Pope Benedict XVI beatified in 2010.
