Catholics, Anglo-Catholics and Anglicans making history by joining the new ordinariate within the Catholic Church worshipped together on Saturday at Westminster Cathedral to celebrate the 950th anniversary of the founding of the shrine to Our Lady of Walsingham in Norfolk. The Archbishop of Westminster Vincent Nichols presided at a Solemn Mass attended by many other Catholic bishops, as well as Mgrs Keith Newton and Andrew Burnham who have been appointed to lead the new structure. The Mass marked the beginning of six months of celebrations ending on the 24 September Feast of our Lady of Walsingham, to whom the ordinariate is dedicated.
