Sevenoaks Ordinariate: ‘The Way Ahead’

24 01 2011

From the Sevenoaks Ordinariate blog:

The Sevenoaks Ordinariate group is meeting and exploring the way into which it will enter into full communion with the Catholic Church. The group is aware of the historic significance of this spiritual journey. If you would like to know more, please email: sevenoaksordinariate[at]

The next few weeks will be momentous. It is a time to pray and to meet together as we journey forward. This year Ash Wednesday  falls on the 9th of March. It marks the beginning of Lent and also the beginning of the spiritual journey of the Ordinariate group. On that day the group will meet within its new setting, with Roman Catholic brothers and sisters and with them the group will receive the ashes. During the five weeks of Lent the group will observe a Eucharistic fast and receive instruction. In Holy Week, the group will be received into the fullness of Communion with the Pope and the whole of the Roman Catholic Church.

At this stage there are many questions about how it will all work out. There is no blue print. This is the first time ever that such a thing has happened. All members of the group are pioneers that with joy and dedication will make real the vision entrusted to them by the Pope and the Catholic Church.
