A former Bishop “dismayed” at changes within the Church of England has spoken about his decision to become a Catholic. The Right Reverend Andrew Burnham, once a vicar in Nottingham, announced his resignation as Bishop of Ebbsfleet last Monday. He, along with two other serving bishops and two retired bishops, will join a Catholic ordinariate set to be created early next year. He said he believed the Church of England had made too many changes to its original rules, such as ordaining women priests.
